NAC weighs in on clothing optional access petition?
"The Naturist Action Committee is not asking you to take specific action on this matter. However, if you've familiarized yourself with the petition, you may wish to sign it."
- NAC Advisory (Jan. 21, 2014)
It was to say the least, disappointing to see the tepid response from the Naturist Action Committee to the "We the People" petition that asks federal policy makers to expand clothing optional access to public lands. The petition initiative was in no way meant as some misguided attempt to compete with NAC or take anything away from the good work that the Naturist Action Committee has done in the
past to secure the rights of naturists to live their lifestyle. [READ MORE]

Petition Asks White House for More Clothing Optional Recreational Access on Public Lands
An online petition has been made on President Barack Obama's official "We the People" website asking for the designation of portions of wilderness public lands under management of the National Parks Service, Bureau of Land Management and U.S. Forest Service for clothing optional recreational use. Together those three federal agencies, based on figures gleaned from their respective official websites, manage more than 536 million acres of back country, seashore and forest lands.
The petition must reach the 100,000 signature threshold within 30 days of being posted, the requisite number required to receive an official response from the White House. [READ MORE]

Is The Petition For More Clothing-Optional Areas Worthwhile or A Big Waste of Time?
For those of you unaware, on January 13th, Larry Darter of the Dallas Examiner created a “We the People” petition that calls for all Federal lands to have clothing-optional areas. It’s puttered along for a few weeks and AANR has put their stamp of approval on it. Currently it has just over 2,500 signatures of the 100,000 needed. With only two weeks to go, it doesn’t look like it will meet it’s goal. Some may see this as an indication of the decline of naturism or that naturists have serious privacy concerns, making them scared to death of actually putting a signature on anything. I have a slightly different stance. [READ MORE]

The petition for more clothing optional areas a big waste of time
There was an interesting post published at Young Naturist America published January 29, 2014, "Is The Petition For More Clothing-Optional Areas Worthwhile or A Big Waste of Time?" I appreciated the thoughts of the writer, identified only as an anonymous guest blogger.
In fairness a more accurate title might have been "The Petition for More Clothing-Optional Areas a Big Waste of Time" since all the points offered leaned in that direction. But still that is exactly the kind of discussion it was hoped the petition would produce. [READ MORE]
